My very first involvement in float building
was my Senior year in High School, helping to build, and ultimately tow, our
float for the Homecoming Parade, 1988. |

 |
The first
float that I built on my own was to advertise my parent's store in The Geauga County Maple Festival Parade
in 1990. They owned a fabric and linen
store and wanted to promote the sales of their high quality sewing machines,
so I set out building a float size sewing machine. |

The following year I decided to do something
totally unrelated to my parent's business. Bart was a hit. The
1991 Geauga County Maple Festival Parade. |

 |
Bart appeared, once again, for the July 4th, 1991, "Salute To
America Parade" (you remember the Gulf War, right?) |

 |
After a long
hiatus, trying desperately year after year to find the time to build the
next float, I began working on the 2002 Geauga County Maple Festival Parade
entry in early January, 2002.
